Trail Cleanup

YRR is going plogging!  What's plogging, you ask? Plogging is a mash-up of the words jogging and the Swedish "plocka upp" meaning to pick up, specifically litter. Plogging started out as a Swedish fitness craze and has caught on in the US. Learn more about plogging in this short PBS video clip. Don't want to run while picking up trash? No problem, just walk with the rest of us and help us keep our trail clean.

Join us for a fun afternoon of working with friends to clean up the litter on our trail!

When: Sunday, September 13 at 1 pm

Where: parking lot behind Tao/Topz/DMV Express on 24th

The Yellowstone Rim Runners are adopting the multi-use trail along our Canyon Creek Brewing club run from 29th St to 24th St as part of the Bright n' Beautiful program. We'll be done just in time for Canyon Creek Brewing to open at 2 pm, so stick around after to socialize.

Here's the plan:

Meet at the parking lot behind Tao/Topz/DMV Express on 24th to pick up supplies like trash pickers, gloves and bags provided by Bright n' Beautiful.

Spread out along the trail from 24th St to 29th St and pick up any litter you can find. Feel free to go "plogging" or just walk.

Reward yourself for your hard work, by hanging out with your runner friends and enjoying a pint at Canyon Creek Brewing.

In adopting this trail, YRR has committed to picking up trash on this route several times each year. Stay tuned for our next cleanup event.
